Popis pracovní pozice:
We are starting a new Laboratory of Plant Cell Morphogenesis. Because we grow and expand, we need a technician who would take care of the routine in the laboratory.
Job is perfect for the bachelor/master students already at the campus, which would provide them with time flexibility and enable them to learn about routine laboratory practices.
Your role will involve:
- Taking care of autoclaving, handling GMO waste, autoclaving, monitoring chemicals, refilling liquid nitrogen and other similar housekeeping activities (filling up pipette tips etc.)
- Preparing basic media for plant and bacterial growth
- Occasional work with proteins, including checking plant protein extracts using Western blot.

- Fluent in English
- Basic laboratory skills
- Basic PC skills including proficiency in spreadsheet editors

The Biology Centre is located in České Budějovice (2 hours south of the capital Prague), a middle-sized city with ca. 100K inhabitants, relaxed atmosphere, over 750 years of tradition and a breathtaking countryside around.
