Job description:
The Laboratory of Fish Protistology at the Institute of Parasitology, Biology Centre of Czech Academy of Sciences is looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher! The fellow will join an international research team elucidating host-pathogen interactions resulting from the 350 million-year arms race between the cnidarian parasite Sphaerospora molnari and the immune system of fish. The principal aim of the project is the understanding of mechanisms underlying the development of specific immunity and the analysis of parasite's evasion strategies.
Requirements:
PhD
Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Molecular biology
Previous experience with animal experimentation, flow cytometry, immunological and proteomic assays or cell biology techniques is advantageous.

About the position:
Duration of the job contract is fixed (July 2022 – Dec 2022), with possible prolongation based on successful grant proposals. Applicants from all countries are eligible but preference is given to Ukrainian citizens.
Place and background:
The Institute of Parasitology is one of the largest European centers of parasitological research and provides all state-of-the-art facilities required to undertake a multi-disciplinary repertoire of methods, enabling studies on host-parasite interactions at the organismal, cellular and molecular level. The institute is located in České Budějovice, the capital city of South Bohemia known for its original Budweiser Budvar beer. The city is surrounded by the UNESCO heritage sites of Hluboká nad Vltavou and Český Krumlov, and the pristine nature of the Bohemian Forest National Park.
